What to expect

  • Squad starts and live gaps
  • Ghost and target pacing concepts
  • Spectator links for the people cheering
  • Recaps for comparing efforts

Agree what you are racing

Start with a shared route, distance or time goal. Runners on different courses face different hills, surfaces and conditions, so decide how you want to compare efforts before the session. A friendly challenge works best when everyone understands the format.

Live sessions and ghost challenges

Runwiv previews shared starts, live squad context and ghost pacing concepts. A live race connects people running at the same time; a ghost or target gives context for a separate effort. Confirm which modes are available in your app release before relying on them.

Bring supporters to the finish

Share the spectator link with the people you want to watch. They can follow from a browser while the session is active. GPS data may arrive late and is not certified race timing; use the event organiser’s official results for official placings.

Common questions

Can friends compete remotely?

Runwiv is designed for shared sessions with local or remote friends. Different routes need an agreed comparison and reliable device connectivity.

Is Runwiv an official timing system?

A live GPS session provides running context. It should not be treated as an organiser’s certified timing or official race result.
