What to expect
- 5 km at 6:00/km takes 30:00
- 10 km in 50:00 averages 5:00/km
- A half marathon is 21.0975 km; a marathon is 42.195 km
Distance × pace = time
Enter your distance and either a pace or finish time. Get the equivalent pace in kilometres and miles, with a simple split table.

Calculations run in your browser. No account or email needed. This is arithmetic, not a prediction of your fitness or a recommended race target.
Finish time is distance multiplied by pace per unit. Average pace is elapsed time divided by distance. The calculator uses 1 mile = 1.609344 kilometres. It calculates with unrounded values and rounds displayed times to the nearest second.
Five kilometres at six minutes per kilometre gives 5 × 360 = 1,800 seconds, or 30 minutes. Cumulative kilometre splits are 6:00, 12:00, 18:00, 24:00 and 30:00. The same pace is approximately 9:39 per mile.
Enter 21.0975 kilometres, choose pace from finish time and enter 2:00:00. The result is approximately 5:41 per kilometre or 9:09 per mile. Rounded pace displays may not multiply back to the exact finish time; the splits use the unrounded calculation.
The table assumes constant average pace. It does not adjust for hills, weather, stops, distance measurement errors or your training. Decide whether your input uses elapsed time or moving time and compare the same measure consistently. Choose a race target from appropriate training evidence and advice, not from the calculator alone.
No. It converts the distance and time or pace you enter. It does not estimate fitness or prescribe training.
When the distance is not a whole number of units, the last row shows the finish at that partial distance. Longer calculations group splits to keep the table usable.
Yes. Enter 42.195 kilometres and your intended pace or finish time. That arithmetic does not establish whether the target is achievable.
