Designed for every role

Safety is collaborative. Filter the features below to explore how the Runwiv safety network adapts to keep you protected, whether you are running solo, coordinating a club event, or spectating from home.

Runner Centric

Individual runner protection

Your safety details are integrated directly into the runner cockpit. Manage your tracking status, secure your details, and receive real-time notifications when it matters.

Locker Room Emergency Directory

Edit emergency contact details, phone numbers, and specific biometrics in your runner profile editor—completely accessible to organizers if an incident is raised.

Live Hazard Notification & Shields

Receive watch haptics and loud spoken audio notifications when approaching likely road crossings, offline loops, or restricted circles. For Arcade modes, scoring automatically pauses and tag protection shields arm inside designated buffer zones.

Notice Acceptance Gating

Before entering squad lobbies or setup-driven runs, you are presented with a clear Participant Safety Notice sheet generated from the route analysis details to sign off before starting.

The Safety Analysis Scanner

At the core of the Runwiv publisher is our automated route safety scanner. Before any route experience is shared, the app executes checks to identify hazards.

When a route is designed in Route Studio or imported via GPX/Strava, the system parses the route coordinates. It applies safety analysis to determine publish compatibility:

Likely Road Crossings

Checks geographic crossing nodes against open roads, generating warn cues to slow down runners prior to impact points.

Restricted Circles

Allows hosts to establish no-go polygons (restricted circles). Placing checkpoints inside these boundaries blocks game publishing.

GPS Signal Confidence

Analyzes track trees for canyon or forest cover. If GPS confidence is low, the app auto-adjusts watch local metrics to step tracking.

Game-Specific Warnings

Infection game setups require stricter street-crossing buffers than Turf War loops, adjusting for high-tempo runner profiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about location access, data safety parameters, or emergency settings? We have detailed answers below.

Runwiv uses a custom, smart GPS tracking system that updates your location intelligently based on your speed. By analyzing distance checkpoints rather than continuous coordinates, background location usage is highly optimized, ensuring a full marathon can be tracked on Apple Watch and iPhone with substantial charge to spare.
Only primary event hosts and authorized co-admins listed in the club event's administrator settings can issue safety broadcasts. This keeps notifications secure and prevents unauthorized alert spam during active events.
If a runner enters a restricted hazard segment mapped in Route Studio, the live run engine triggers:
  • Immediate haptic triple-tap alert on the companion Apple Watch.
  • A complete pause on active event scoring (e.g. Turf War grid points stop accumulating).
  • Tag protection shields for multiplayer matches to discourage players from taking risks.
Your profile data is protected under robust Firestore Security Rules and is completely invisible to third parties. Event organizers can access contact numbers and safety tags during active runs only. The moment the run session ends, your contact details are locked securely again.

Prioritize Safety on your Next Run

Configure your route, publish events after satisfying the Safety Analysis engine, and rest assured that your emergency profile details and live locations are managed securely.
